AI Diary — Privacy Policy

AI Diary is built to keep your thoughts private and secure. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account information: your name and email address, provided when you sign in with Google. If you use Demo Login instead, no personal account information is collected.
Journal entries: the diary entries you write, including text content and mood indicators.
AI chat conversations: messages you exchange with the AI companion within the app.
Usage data: we do not currently collect analytics or usage-tracking data. If this changes in a future update, this policy will be updated first.

To provide and personalise the AI Diary experience, including generating AI-powered responses and insights.
To display your writing streak, mood trends, and personal statistics within the app.
Daily reminder notifications are planned but not yet active in this version of the app.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or journal content with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which employs industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
Your account is protected by Google Sign-In authentication.
Only you can access your journal entries and AI conversations. No other users can view your data.
We regularly review our security practices to keep your information safe.

Your data is retained as long as your account is active and you continue using the app.
When you delete a journal entry, it is permanently removed from our servers.
Upon account deletion, all associated personal data, journal entries, and settings are permanently erased immediately.

Access: you can view all your data directly within the app at any time.
Correction: you can edit or update your profile information and journal entries.
Deletion: you can delete individual entries at any time, or permanently delete your account and all associated data from the app's Settings screen (Settings → Delete Account).
Notification control: once daily reminders are enabled in a future update, you will be able to turn them on or off at any time from the Settings screen.

Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication): used for secure data storage and user authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
AI Processing: the AI Assistant currently generates its replies on-device, and your messages are not sent to any third-party AI service. If we later integrate a third-party AI provider, this policy will be updated first to describe what is shared and how.
We do not integrate with advertising networks or social media tracking SDKs.
